Panther Nation, please pay close attention to the events and reminders of the week!
Welcome Back | We are “Back on Track!” First period starts at 9:00 and students can arrive as early as 8:30. |
Safety Protocols | According to the latest guidance from the Health Department and HCPS:
We conducted a Hide and Lock Drill last week. All students and staff responded accordingly. Additional safety drills will continue this week. |
Transportation | This is a reminder that Student Drop-Off is at the Stadium Parking lot. Walkers may and students with Special Needs enter through the front doors.
Student Drivers must enter the building and be seated in class at 9:00 daily to be counted as present and on time. |
Attendance Reminders | Based on Attendance Data, HHS Chronic Absenteeism was 29% at the end of the school year. This number needs to be under 15%. Please ensure your child attends school every day. |
Dress Code | In order to maintain a safe environment, the following items are not allowed to be worn during the school day:

Where is the School Supply List? | HHS supplies are determined by course. Teachers will share a course syllabus during the first week of school containing all supplies necessary for the school year. |
What are the Fees and How do I Pay? | School fees can be paid via the Parent Portal. Please visit the Online School Payments page to pay all fees. |
How do I Create a Parent Portal Account? | Please visit the HCPS Parent Connection Site and follow the prompts. All information needed to create an account is located on your student’s report card.

When Do I Get My Class Schedule? | Schedules are available on PowerSchool. Please check the Parent Portal to access all information.
Can I change my class? Course Requests were due by June 16, 2022. Counselors will only fix scheduling errors. Use the QR code to request assistance with an error. Scheduling errors include, but are not limited to:

How do I obtain Panther Gear? | HHS water bottles and masks are on sale in the front office. The Hermitage Panther Spirit Store is now open! Please select the link if you want to purchase any Panther gear. Also, attached is the order form for the HHS letterman jacket.

PSAT Letter | We will offer the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test on October 12 for all Freshmen and Sophomores. Juniors who wish to take this test must pay a fee of $18. Please see the attached letter for additional information. |
What about Yearbooks? | Yearbooks will be shipped for Seniors who paid during the 21-22 school year. Returning students may pick up yearbooks from the main office. |
School Nutrition | All students will continue to be able to receive breakfast and lunch at no charge. Students must enter their lunch code for data purposes only.
Food deliveries – HCPS does not permit outside food deliveries. Students are not able to leave campus for lunch or food delivery. |
HHS Community Forum | Please join us at 7:00 on Tuesday, September 20 to discuss all things Hermitage via Microsoft Teams! We will review our mission/vision, goals for this year, and focus areas for 22-23. We hope to see you there!

Clinic Information | We welcome back our clinic staff, Trisha Lockhart, RN and Valarie Tyree, LPN. They will be available starting this week if you need to drop off medication for your child. Linked are the forms that you will need to complete for prescription and over-the-counter medications. |
Senior Information | Meningococcal Vaccine:
Due to the most recent guidance, all seniors must have the second dose of the Meningococcal vaccine within the first 90 days of school. Please contact Nurse Lockhart or Nurse Tyree with questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing students in the morning! FAFSA Information: Sharon Cox is our GRASP Representative and will begin working with seniors on Tuesdays in October when the FAFSA opens for the school year. Transcript Notification from Technology: To parents/guardians of all current high school Seniors: Due to a technical error, we have not been able to process the 2022-2023 Opt-Out of Class Rank Appearing on High School Transcript Form submitted through the Back-To-School Forms via e-Collect. If you are a parent/guardian of a current high school Senior and do not wish for your child’s class rank to be included on their secondary school transcript, please complete and return the Secondary School Transcripts & Class Rank Opt-Out Request Form and return it to your child’s school counseling department. Hard copies are available for pick up in the school counseling office. Thank you, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. |
