Good morning, Panther Nation! Please view the updates and reminders for this two-day week! Monday is Day 2, and students will attend periods 2, 4, 6, and 8. Safety Alert - Hermitage High School is committed to informing you about health and safety matters impacting our community so we can address them together. As we share this information, please know we are striving to balance the privacy of students and families while also keeping you informed, in accordance with Governor Youngkin’s Executive Order #28. This week, a student ingested an edible substance resulting in a health emergency that required us to call 911. This incident is an important reminder about the need to talk to our students about the potential dangers of drug use. To help build awareness and support students who may be struggling with substance use problems, our school has several educational programs, school counselors, and wrap-around resources available. Each HCPS high school has a dedicated Tiered Intervention School Counselor (TISC) available to support students based on their identified needs. Here at Hermitage, the TISC is Annaleigh Broad. Care Solace: A multilingual care team assists families 24 hours a day in connecting with local mental health and substance use treatment providers. Hazel Telehealth: Offers virtual healthcare support for students in grades 9-12, including mental health and substance use assistance. Parent permission is required for students to connect with a Hazel health professional. Henrico Area Mental Health and Developmental Services Same Day Access for Substance Use Services: Provides immediate help for students in need of urgent intervention. Chesterfield Recovery Academy: Offers a year-round program for students early in recovery from substance use disorders to support their ongoing recovery while they work toward their high school diploma. We are also asking for your help. Please speak with your children at home about the dangers of drug use and the harm these substances can cause. These resources may be helpful during your family conversation: Just Think Twice, Partnership to End Addiction, and Talk. They Hear You. Thank you for your continued partnership in addressing the health and wellness needs of our students. Together, we can ensure that every Hermitage High School student has the support and resources to remain healthy and learning.
