Good afternoon, Panther Nation!
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding during our recent weather-related school closures. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remains our highest priority, and we appreciate your support.
While we hope the inclement weather is behind us, we want to ensure students can continue learning in the event of future school closures. If there are further interruptions to this year’s school calendar, HCPS may implement remote learning, which may use asynchronous or synchronous instruction.
Remote asynchronous instruction means that students would access materials and assignments online to complete at their own pace, while remote synchronous learning means students would participate in live lessons with their teachers via Microsoft Teams.
We ask that devices be kept charged in case a school closure arises and remote learning is necessary. If your family needs a Wi-Fi hotspot device, please notify the homeroom teacher.
As a reminder, Securly, our comprehensive student safety software, is installed on all student devices, and the Securly Home app is available for parents to download on their personal phones. The app allows filtering options and internet access schedules to be set while the device is used at home. Most importantly, to ensure you receive updates and may access these features, please make sure that parent/guardian emails are up-to-date in PowerSchool.
