Celebrate autumn and experience all 9 HCPS marching bands at the 2025 Band Showcase

Marching bands are the soundtrack of fall. Enjoy the crisp autumn weather and experience nine outstanding high school marching bands at Henrico County Public Schools’ 2025 Band Showcase. This year’s event will take place on October 6 at Hermitage High School and feature performances by bands from each of the school division’s comprehensive high schools at 6:00 p.m.

The event is free, but donations are being accepted at the gate for the Henrico Christmas Mother campaign. Attendees can meet Ann McGee, this year’s Henrico Christmas Mother. Celebrate the 83rd anniversary of this community campaign by bringing donations of canned goods, peanut butter, cereal, crackers, hats, gloves, and socks, and monetary donations. HHS School Counseling

Support for Students struggling with substance use

At Hermitage High School, the health, wellness, and success of our students are the shared responsibility of our young people, their families, and our community of caring educators. We recognize the challenges that substance use can bring to our students, and we are committed to educating students on the risks of substance use while also ensuring that anyone who is struggling with substance use has access to resources and treatment support.

Our school has a number of evidence-based programs and interventions ranging from classroom lessons to more specific services based on individual student needs. We have a staff member who is dedicated to helping families navigate resources and make connections to wraparound services for students struggling with substance use. If you have questions about youth substance use or if you are seeking support for your student, I encourage you to reach out directly to our Tiered Intervention School Counselor, Ms. Annaleigh Broad,  at asbroad@henrico.k12.va.us or via her confidential phone line (804) 866-2687.

Through the Henrico CARES initiative, you also have access to the following services at no cost to your family:

  • Care Solace: A multilingual care team assists families 24 hours a day in connecting with local mental health and substance use treatment providers.

  • Hazel Telehealth: Offers virtual healthcare support for students in grades 9-12, including mental health and substance use assistance. Parent permission is required for students to connect with a Hazel health professional.

  • Chesterfield Recovery Academy: Offers a year-round program for students early in recovery from substance use disorders to support their ongoing recovery while they work toward their high school diploma.
