We love making book recommendations, so pop in and ask us what we recommend! 0ver 600 individual sign-ins: We’ve welcomed more than 600 individual students to the library since the first day of school. We’re open to students with a pass throughout the day, and we are open to everyone during lunches. 63 Lessons Taught: Your Herm Library staff taught 63 lessons in August and September on topics like recognizing media bias and fake news, educating students on the current state of book bans in the US, conducting research, Freshman library orientations, and creating friendship bracelets with ML students. 186 new books added to collection: Always check our displays for featured titles. This month we partnered with the Hispanic Student Union to design a display for Hispanic Heritage Month, as well as displays for Banned Books Week, new books, Queer Corner, and more! Special programs: So far this quarter the Herm Library has offered a Silent Reading Party, Banned Books Week Trivia, face painting in conjunction with the Hispanic Student Union for Hispanic Heritage Month. Looking ahead, we’re excited to offer rock painting, paracord bracelets, and our literacy night, Herm HalloSTEAM! Check Schoology and @HermLibrary on Instagram for updates. Clubs: The Herm Sewists have been busy making repairs and alterations for students and staff. So far, they’ve completed 18 requests on items ranging from sweaters to plushies to pillows! Our student book club has around 60 members and we’ve just had our first meeting. The Student Library Advisory has 10 new members and we start meeting next week. How can you help?
