2023-2024 Yearbook Distribution
Yearbooks will be distributed May 6th through May 10th in Commons A during lunches. Students will need to prove their identity before picking up their yearbook via ID or providing their student ID number. Students will sign for their books.
We have a small surplus, with seniors getting the first opportunity to purchase books on May 6th and May 7th. The books are $50.00 and can be purchased with cash or a card. All other grades will be able to purchase any surplus leftover, starting on May 8th.

HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT: Join the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office for a special evening to help educate parents and guardians on possible signs of drug and alcohol use by teens. The event replicates a teenager's bedroom to allow parents to “snoop” and try to find indicators of drug use and hiding spots. Discover how alcohol and drugs can be easily hidden in a teenager’s bedroom and learn of ways to engage in proactive and healthy discussions to prevent risky behaviors. Rapid revive training offered.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The Birthplace of American Medicine!
Sophomores in the Center for Allied Health traveled to the home of America's first public hospital and first medical school in sunny March. Students explored 19th Century medical history at the Mütter Museum, immersed themselves in the major systems of the body at the Franklin Institute, and learned about academics and activities for future healthcare professionals on a tour of the University of Pennsylvania @alliedhealth.hhs









Come see over 50 Herm students perform in The Addams Family (School Edition) on April 18, 19, and 20 at 7 pm! Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students.

CONGRATULATIONS to Josenae Jones, Hermitage senior for being accepted to the Teacher Scholars program!!! Seniors who are accepted for the program agree to complete their undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in an approved content area and Henrico County Public Schools will provide them with a $5,000 supplement and guaranteed employment. Josenae plans to come back to HCPS to work as an art teacher. We are so proud of you!!!

The AP Exam registration window has opened! Registration this year will again be done via Total Registration. In order to completely register for an AP Exam students must be in the AP Classroom as well as complete the registration on Total Registration. Registration codes will be changed on November 8, 2023.
2023-2024 AP Exam Fees:
AP Exam Fee Total= $102 per exam
AP Exam Fee for AP Seminar - $152
AP Free/Reduced Lunch Exam Fee Total= $0 per exam (parents/guardians must complete the fee waiver eligibility google form; https://forms.gle/3T7NRs8xTXp9ewJB7; additionally, students must check the fee waiver box in Total Registration to be considered for a fee waiver. If you are not requesting a fee waiver do not complete the google form.)

September 18 -November 8, 2023 – Regular registration window. $40 deposit is required for each AP exam ordered.
November 8, 2024 – Last day to cancel an AP Exam and receive a refund.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH is September 15th - October 15th to celebrate Hispanic culture and the achievements of the Hispanic community. Come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month this Thursday, Sept 21st with our Herm Spanish Club in Commons B after school!

Ms. Kirk's 6th block Environmental Science class learned about grizzlies in Katmai National Park in Alaska by checking out Explore.org's live cam. They used Canva to craft creative, eye-catching entries for the 2023 Fat Bear Week poster campaign contest!
